Filter Intake Guard (Fishnacks FIG), stock filter intake tubes not included

The Fishnacks Filter Intake Guards (FIG) are an excellent accessory for owners of Fluval/Aquaclear Hang-on-Back (HOB) filters. The stock openings on the Fluval/AquaClear filter intakes are too large for the smallest aquarium pets. The Fishnacks inspiration for this product came from mystery snails being unable to escape the intake suction and shrimp being lost to the filter intake. Complimenting your aquarium with the Filter Intake Guard ensures that your small pets are safe from the filter intake without sacrificing filtration performance. With 1.5 mm holes, the mesh is small enough to protect shrimp, snails and smaller fish, but large enough to allow excess food and waste to enter. Fish fry and the smallest of shrimp will likely require the addition of a higher density foam mesh.
There are two sizes of Filter Intake Guards. FIG0.7 is compatible with the Fluval/AquaClear 20, 30, and 50. FIG1.1 is compatible with the Fluval/AquaClear 70 and 110. The stock filter intakes are not included.
