The Fishnacks SFC, or Sponge Filter Cap (SFC), is an excellent addition to aquariums and ponds featuring an ATI sponge filter with a "Bullseye" aeration hose interface. Complimenting your aquarium with the SFC increases both the mechanical filtration and beneficial bacteria capacity. This is accomplished by simply swapping the stock "Bullseye" with the SFC. The SFC is a direct replacement for any ATI sponge filter that includes a “Bullseye”. This includes the all Hydro-Sponge filters (I-IV).
The SFC design includes slots for two aeration hoses, essentially doubling the filter’s flow capability. Additionally, since the aeration hoses are routed directly through the SFC, without the flow area restrictions of tube to nipple connections, the air-side pressure losses are further reduced. All of this means more bubbles, more flow, and higher filtration capability to ensure a healthy aquarium and happy fish!
Manufactured with fish safe PETG, the SFC’s durable structure provides infinite service life with minimal maintenance requirements. The SFC fits snug to the lift tube and top strainer but is easily removed for cleaning and adjustments.
The thru cap design of the SFC also eliminates the need to route the aeration tube vertically, through the lift tube. Therefore, aeration tubes can be hidden behind the sponge filter and buried in the sand for a clean, aesthetically pleasing presentation. Gone are the days of ugly, tangle prone aeration tubes hanging down to your sponge filter!
